A multinational manufacturer of insulation products, with numerous production units in as many European countries, had a turnover of several hundred million Euros, but had an ambition to grow even bigger. The company was suddenly confronted by disappointing profits. A new CEO was appointed to carry out the development of a new strategy from the head office. WissemaGroup was assigned to draw up a strategic plan together with the CEO and all the managing directors.
At the end of the initial phase of this process, the executive board approved the prepared growth strategy. The implementation in the next phase resulted in a strong improvement in financial performance, above-average market growth, green fielding, and the continued confidence of the shareholders in the management.
Once the strategic development phase was completed, the emphasis was placed on commercial excellence in all countries. The subsequent tangible increase in turnover, improvement in cross selling, reduction of sales costs, and the improved marketing and sales gave a major boost to the growth strategy. Another positive effect was that the company was better prepared to deal with the recent economic recession then it otherwise would have been.
